Ashok Pavadia
Strategic Affairs and Governance Advisor
Ashok K. Pavadia is a distinguished academician, former bureaucrat, and governance expert with more than four decades of experience spanning public administration, policy development, and corporate strategy. Widely respected for his leadership in governance, sustainability, and institutional reform, he brings a deep understanding of how policy and enterprise intersect within complex regulatory and economic systems.
He began his professional journey as a Lecturer at the University of Delhi before joining the Indian bureaucracy, where he held senior positions across key ministries including Railways, Civil Aviation, Agriculture, Chemicals & Fertilizers, and Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises. His final assignment with the Government of India was as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, following a career that also saw him serve as Private Secretary to two Union Ministers.
An alumnus of the London School of Economics, Harvard University, University of Delhi (Hindu College), Indian Law Institute, and the Royal Institute of Public Administration (UK), he holds advanced qualifications in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, and Management. This academic depth, combined with extensive public-sector experience, underpins his reputation as a strategist with both intellectual and operational insight.
He is the Founder Director of the Council for Research on Policy and Governance, Chief Advisor to the Chanakya School of Public Policy and Management at Malla Reddy University, and serves on the Governing Board of the Registered Valuers Organization of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. His work on corporate governance, CSR, and sustainability has influenced several national and international frameworks in these domains.
